Hydraulic Gearshift Control for Commercial Vehicles

Compact assemblies in trucks do not leave much room for the gear-control linkage on manual gear control. By way of alternative, we have collaborated with DaimlerChrysler in developing a hose line system in which an oil column instead of a metal linkage transmits power to the positioning cylinders on the gearbox.

This innovative principle allows for uncomplicated and exact shifting. The system - which, in the meantime, has come to be used by many leading commercial vehicle manufacturers - consists of three assemblies: a bundle of four hose lines, special-purpose hoses and quick connectors for split-second, toolless mounting. High-pressure quick-connectors also allow for fast and easy attachment to aggregates.

The special-purpose hoses dispose of a tough polyamide inner lining and a steel wire mesh to enable them to withstand pressure. The elastomer cover, which is resistant to light-induced cracking and oil, keeps water out and ensures the sustained functionality of the medium.
