Optimized covers for ore mining
They reduced the damage caused by sharp-edged materials by up to 50%. The belts provide longer service life, so that operating costs are reduced.

The Henderson belt ST 5400, designed for ore mining, is an example of a customized development. It is energy-optimized and equipped with a cut-resistant cover. Armed with ContiTronic® SAFE it bridges a distance of about 23.5 km in the "Henderson Mine and Mill" in the Rocky Mountains. Three conveyor systems are in operation here, including the longest long-distance conveyor system in the world with an overall length of around 17 km.

Energy-optimized conveyor belts
The energy costs of larger conveyor systems make up a large chunk of transport costs. With the belt systems developed by the ContiTech Conveyor Belt Group unit it is possible to slash energy costs by around 10%.

Conveyor belts are adapted to cope with the specific requirements. The rolling resistance due to indentation can be reduced by up to 35% with optimized rubber compounds, appropriately arranged steel cords, supplementary textile reinforcement and special covers on the working side.

Advantages:

Less rolling resistance also reduces belt tension
Lower belt tension allows for the use of lighter weight conveyor belts
Lighter weight belts reduce the power requirements and energy costs for conveyor systems
   by up to 10%
Lighter weight belts can be manufactured in longer segments, thereby reducing the number of    splices required
Investment costs are cut when lighter weight belts are used and the splicing expense is reduced
